I have been here in Shanghai since March 2005
art in architecture is my primary interest
Living in Shanghai has brought new experiences for me related to the need for providing housing accomodation that is more than simply stacking boxes
Dear Howard, How are you?
If you have time, I would be happy to hear about your experiences, knowledge and views on our Architecture for Humanity New Delhi project so far, an exceptional school in Niamey (there will be more on the blog about the project in a week or so).
Above, an image to give you an idea of what we’re working with at the moment as far as existing facilities. They wish to more than double their size, and hopefully make it the first school in the area that doesn’t resemble some sort of military bunker.
I do not drink alcohol either so no green beer for me. Not sure I am interested in drinking anything green anyway (other than wheatgrass juice).
Didn't you know that one St Paddy's Day, everyone is Irish?! I'm impressed by your Joyce quote - that's better than I can do! I trust you are recovering from exhaustion and thank you for laying some photographic happiness on us.
One of the marvellous things about photography is that it is artistic and geeky (like architecture!). You get to spout techno-nerdspeak and everyone nods their heads sagely, and everyone knows that if it were necessary, they would skip meals to buy the right equipment. But you are old enough to know that once one gets that perfect item, chances are, one will find another one to want.
(Or have you learned the secret to contentment? Don't read photography mags...it's only then that you realise all the indispensable things you're lacking)
Best of luck to you, in more than your photography.
Hello Howard, wonderful images. So glad you splurged a little. I don't suppose you might be able to find the 7-14mm slightly used (and not abused)?
My son smeared himself with peanut butter (looked like an angel, however, not like the alien baby below) and despite vigorous and repeated washings, he smelled edible for a week afterwards!
Hello Howard, lovely to hear from you. Give us your reviews on the camera, will you?
There is absolutely NO substitute for peanut butter. Soy butter, almond butter, cashew butter, macadamia nut butter, sunflower seed butter and tahini are all very well in their place, but they aren't the same.
The organic peanut butter is untainted. I will send you some, if you like. Just provide shipping address. Even in Dubai, where my assistant called it "butter peanut" - a rare and unheard of substance there - I had to get my hands on it somehow. They don't know about peanut butter in the UK, either (they think they do, but they're mistaken - they booger it up with hydrogenated oils and sugar! That's not peanut butter in my book.)
You have stirred a chord. I feel a passionate paean to peanut butter rising from the mists of culinary odes.
