Above, a photo to give you an idea of what we’re working with at the moment (existing facilities). They wish to more than double their size, and hopefully make it the first school in the area that doesn’t resemble some sort of military bunker.

Working for Laurie Baker must have been a great learning expirence. His set of architectural principles are really true to their each word. In present times very few architects are able to maintain such design intent & principles. What is being practiced today is merely commercial architecture.

About me: “Today, buildings have and will continue to become more complex, meeting stringent energy and environmental and other project requirements. Goals are impacting the process of designing, constructing, and maintaining buildings. Utilizing whole building design principles in an integrated design process seems to be the way to enable achieving these goals of any project and create high-performance buildings.”
This is what I understood after working for 19 months with Laurie Baker and since then I have been constantly searching for documents, case studies to understand the principles of Sustainable design. In my keenness to continue expanding on this knowledge, I have recently taken up the challenge of appearing for the LEED-India examination.
